Dr. Faazil Kassam

Dr. Faazil Kassam

Faazil Kassam is a native of Ottawa, Ontario and completed his undergraduate science degree at the University of Ottawa. During this time, he was fortunate to represent Canada at the Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens, Greece in the sport of table tennis. He then went on to complete his MD at the University of Toronto medical school. Following a year of research in glaucoma at the University of Alberta, he completed his five-year medical and surgery residency training at the University of Calgary in Ophthalmology. Following five years in comprehensive practice at Calgary Retina Consultants, he completed one year of additional clinical fellowship training in retinal diseases through the University of Michigan and the University of Calgary. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and holds a certificate in Health Policy and Economics from Cornell University. In his spare time, he is an avid Toronto Raptors fan and tennis player.
